PDF Files:

We require that PDF files adhere to the PDF/X-1a standard to ensure proper output. PDF creation using this convention will flatten all transparency effects in a layout. This allows customers to inspect for any potential output issues related to transparency within a layout before submitting their files.

PDF/X-1a requirements:

  1. All fonts must be embedded in the file.
  2. All color data must be CMYK, grayscale, or named spot colors. The file should not contain LAB or RGB data.
  3. OPI is not allowed.
  4. Compliant files cannot contain any embedded multi-media data such as music or movies, or any non-printable annotations.
  5. The file should not contain any Javascript code or forms information.
  6. Encryption cannot be used.
  7. Transfer curves cannot be used.
